Unique features of research reactors for implementation of non-power projects to be discussed on ATOMEXPO-2024


On March 25, 2024, the roundtable discussion «Unique features of research reactors for implementation of non-power projects» takes place at the XIII ATOMEXPO international forum in Sochi. The organizers are Consortium Leader of MBIR Reactor International Research Centre and Rusatom Overseas.

The leading Russian and foreign companies of the nuclear industry and scientific organizations will participate in the roundtable discussion. 

Moderator: Mr. Latchezar Kostov, Vice-Director of Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

The speakers of the roundtable discussion:
- Mr. Dmitry Klinov, Deputy Scientific Advisor on promising Topics of Leypunsky Institute of Physics and Power Engineering (IPPE),
- Mr. Ilkham Sadikov, CEO of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
- Mr. Evgeny Bespala, Head of the Project Office, TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom,
- Mr. Sergei Scherbakov, Academic Secretary, National Academy of Science of the Republic of Belarus,
- Mr. Erbolat Koyanbaev, Deputy Director for material research, Institute of Atomic Energy of National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
- Ing. Hortensia Jiménez Rivera, Director General, Bolivian Nuclear Energy Agency (ABEN), 
- Dr. Fidele Ndahayo, Director General of Rwanda Atomic Energy Board.

The participants of the round-table will discuss the prospects of creating global international scientific platforms and implementing national projects for the construction of research reactors as well as the positioning of Russia as a partner offering complex solutions to the countries developing nuclear energy. 

The purpose of the event is to promote international partnership to implement bilateral and multilateral scientific programs for non-power use of nuclear technologies as well as Rosatom’s competencies as a vendor of the projects for the construction of research reactors in Russia and abroad.   

The roundtable discussion takes place at 5:00 PM (GMT+3) at Conference hall 6, Sirius Expo Center.
